Decorating The Little Glass House

2020 little glass house refresh

The Little Glass House

The Christmas decorations have all been stored away which always leaves me feeling like I’m starting with a clean slate. I enjoy moving accessories and furniture around to create a fresh and updated look.

In the living room, an antique table from Diani Living replaced the round reclaimed wood one. I’ve heard from plenty of Instagram friends that they preferred the previous one. However, I’m loving the smaller size, the character, and the lighter feel that this one brings.

A striped pillow from Diani Living, a galvanized side table brought in from outside, and a shuffling of accessories give the living area a new look. Can you spot the new addition to the gallery wall?

In the sitting area off the kitchen, I simplified the mantel and added a few plants to bring in some life and color. The rope wrapped surfboard from Mate Gallery becomes a piece of California art and brings warmth and texture to this cozy corner.

Keeping things simple with a landscape pillow from INDIEbungalow, a stump side table from Malibu Market & Design, and my favorite pouf from CB2.

In the kitchen I repurposed my small antique table to hold my favorite cutting boards and a vintage birds nest biscuit tin.

I love how the addition of wood warms up an all white kitchen.

The sea glass in an old dough bowl from Debra Hall Lifestyle replaces the moose antler that makes an appearance for fall and Christmas. A pretty striped runner from Patine and chunky white candle holders from Hudson Grace lend a casual feeling to the dining table.

The bedroom got a mini update with the addition of a cozy rug from Serena & Lily and some neutral accessories.

I’m loving the simplicity of neutral textures and green plants.

The guest room saw the addition of a rustic ladder from Terrain…a gift from my daughter.

The wall hanging is from Will & Atlas (on sale now!) and the painting is from Sonoma Cottage Home .

After removing the Christmas decor, I started from scratch styling the shelves in the living room cabinet. A mix of vintage and new, with touches of black feel fun after all the holiday white and silvers.

Nantucket baskets and old wine bottles are just a few of my favorite things.

By far my favorite accessory for the New Year is the beautiful California sunshine that affords days where the doors can be opened wide and let the outdoors in! Wishing you all a happy, healthy, and adventure filled new year!

Could you tell me where you got your seat cushions for your dining table chairs. I have the same style chairs and am ready to put some cushions on them.

      Hi Paulina,

I bought the cushions from RH. Have a wonderful weekend!
